Service aboard international flights

We are pleased to offer our guests a new and improved complimentary Mediterranean style cold meal tray for the summer months which focuses on taste and the use of local seasonal produce. In the mornings the tray will contain either a light breakfast with warmed bread rolls, turkey ham, cheese, jam and butter as well as Turkish yoghurt sweetened with honey or an in-house baked chocolate muffin. After 11am a satisfying snack will be served such as pasta salad with either roasted vegetables and herbed chicken, with tuna flakes and sweet corn or with feta cheese and cherry tomatoes along with olive oil and lemon dressing. And to round off we serve refreshing ice cream or cherry cake with coffee or tea.

In addition, we serve the following special meals at no extra charge:

 - vegetarian (vegan)
 - vegetarian with milk products (lacto-ovo)
 - diabetic
 - gluten-free
 - lactose-free
 - child’s menu (appropriate for children between 2 and 7 years)

To ensure that we can take your preferred special meal into account, please make your request up to 3 days before departure. Please fill in this form to order your special meal.

In our inflight menu Bistro, which is published in English, German, Norwegian and Polish, you’ll find a selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, snacks and sandwiches that are available for purchase during your flight.

 

Inflight Catering on Domestic flights (within Turkey)

We are pleased to present our new CafeExpress Menu, which you will find in the seat pocket on board. It has a wide selection of items for sale on all domestic flights for your enjoyment, including freshly prepared salads, sandwiches and in-house baked muffins. Inflight entertainment

We have a complimentary inflight audio and video entertainment programme in either German, Turkish, English and/or French on flights over 3 hours according to the route flown. On flights under 3 hours we have a shorter programme available in German and English. So don’t forget to bring your own headsets.
You can also purchase headsets from our cabin staff for €3,-.Remember to keep it for your return flight.

There are also magazines and newspapers available, as well as our monthly inflight magazine sunny times, which includes many interesting articles about destinations, culture and SunExpress news. Look out for online quizzes and competitions, where you can win free flights and a holiday for two in luxury hotels on the Turkish Riviera.

Children also have their own pages to keep them entertained during the flight.

Notice for peanut/nut allergy sufferers

SunExpress does not include peanut/nut products within aircraft tray meals except on pre-ordered child meals which contain chocolate spread. Please be aware that other passengers may bring their own peanut or nut products on board. Peanuts and other types of nut may be included in products sold in the duty free or buy on board snack assortment.

We regret we are unable to offload all products containing nuts from the cabin.

Duty-free sales

Please note that due to organisational re-structuring we are temporarily unable to offer duty-free services on board flights from/to Izmir and Antalya. Flights to/from Istanbul SAW are unaffected. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. 

On international flights we offer our passengers a varied selection of duty-free articles (fragrances, cosmetics, accessories, tobacco and spirits). Keep a look out in the Sunny Sky Shop for special offers and bargains with great price advantages for you!

Use of portable electronic devices

 

During takeoff and landing, the use of any electronic device is strictly forbidden.

Devices that may be used without restriction:

  • Devices with micro or round-cell batteries
  • Devices powered by solar cells
  • Electronic watches (including those with time-signal receivers)
  • Hearing aids (also digital models)
  • Pagers (only receiving devices)
  • Pacemakers

Devices that may be used on the ground before takeoff and after the engines have been switched off:

  • Special mobile telephones for the aircraft’s crew
  • Passengers private mobile telephones in exceptional situations (e.g. delays) if the captain has expressly allowed their use

Devices that may only be used once cruising altitude has been reached:

  • Laptops with CD-ROM or DVD drives
  • Palmtops, organizers
  • Pocket calculators without printer
  • CD players, MiniDisk players and MP3 players
  • Playback devices for magnetic tapes (e.g. Walkman)
  • Computer games (e.g. Gameboy)
  • Video cameras and recorders (including digital models)
  • Digital cameras
  • Video displays (excluding tube devices)
  • Mobile GPS receivers
  • Electric shavers
  • Electronic toys (e.g. Furby)

 

 Devices whose use is allowed in flight once the Fasten Seat Belts sign has been turned off:

  • Laptops without printer (write mode of CD/DVD drives and devices to receive television and radio programs must be turned off)
  • Displays using LCD technology
  • Palmtops, organizers
  • Replaying devices for CDs/VCDs/DVDs/MP3 and audio cassettes (radio mode must be turned off)
  • Normal or digital photo and video cameras
  • Computer games or computer toys without radio transmission
  • Pocket calculators without printer
  • Electric shavers

 

 Devices whose use aboard an aircraft is forbidden at any time:

  • Devices used to emit radio signals
  • Mobil telephones (exception: captain’s decision)
  • Walkie-talkies
  • Remote-controlled toys
  • Display devices with cathode ray tubes
  • Wireless computer accessories (e.g. mouse)
  • PC printers
  • CD-writing drives and MiniDisk recorders in record mode
  • Large, portable stereo systems
  • Pocket radios (medium wave/FM)
  • Television receivers
  • Telemetric equipment
  • Bluetooth devices

Devices whose use is forbidden at any time after cruising altitude has been reached:

  • Mobile telephones (exception: captain’s decision)
  • Devices used to transmit radio waves (walkie-talkies, etc.)
  • Any type of printer or receiver (television/radio, portable stereo systems, GPS, etc.)
  • Wireless computer accessories (e.g. mouse, wireless network links, CD/DVD-writing drives and MiniDisk recorders in record mode
  • Devices supporting Bluetooth and infrared
  • GSM modems
  • Remote-controlled toys
  • Telemetric equipment (electronic devices to measure distances)
  • Any electronic device with flight mode 

 Devices for which an individual permit needs to be obtained:

  • Electronic devices for medical purposes
