im Rahmen der Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung der Coronavirus (COVID-19)-Pandemie wird für Reisen innerhalb der Türkei ein HES-Code benötigt, welcher über  das türkische Gesundheitsministerium erhältlich ist.

In diesem Zusammenhang müssen alle türkischen Fluggäste, die auf einem unserer Inlandsflüge innerhalb der Türkei reisen, ab dem 28. Mai 2020 einen HES-Code über die mobile Anwendung HES oder per SMS anfordern.

Jeder Passagier muss einen individuellen und gültigen HES-Code angeben, unabhängig davon wie viele Passagiere in einer Buchung zusammengefasst sind.

Wir empfehlen Ihnen, sich Ihren HES-Code zu besorgen und diesen spätestens während des Buchungs- oder Check-in-Prozesses einzugeben, um eine nahtlose Reise sicher zu stellen.

Falls der HES-Code während des Check-in-Prozesses nicht gültig ist, fehlt die Grundvoraussetzung für Ihre Beförderung, sodass wir Sie nicht an Bord des Fluges nehmen dürfen. In diesem Fall erstatten wir Ihnen nur Ihre Steuern und Gebühren. Wenn es vor Ihrem Flug eine Aktualisierung Ihres Status gibt, bieten wir Ihnen ein offenes Ticket an, das innerhalb von drei Monaten nach dem ursprünglichen Flugdatum verwendet werden kann.

1. What is ‘HES code’?

The “HES code” application has been put into place by the Turkish Ministry of Health to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Within the scope of the “Hayat Eve Sığar” campaign, every Turkish citizen who will travel within Turkey needs to provide a HES code for travelling purposes. The HES code will be obtained for a certain period of time upon request.

2. Why is it necessary and for whom?

While traveling, providing a HES code is mandatory to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus and to protect the wellbeing of the Turkish society. It is a requirement for all Turkish citizens who travel within Turkey. It is not mandatory to obtain a HES code for infants.

3. How can I create my own HES code?

HES codes can be obtained from the “Hayat Eve Sığar” mobile application or via sending an SMS to 2023 with a message consisting of the following information subsequently: “<HES>blank <Your Turkish ID number> blank <The last 4 digits of your Turkish ID Serial Number>blank<the number of the days you need the HES code for>.”

4. Is there a requirement regarding the validity period of the HES code?

Yes. Please note that your HES code has to be valid until your flight date. We kindly ask you to create your HES code accordingly.

5. Can I obtain a new HES code if it expires?

Yes, you can create a new HES code at any time by following the same steps when your HES code expires.

6. Is it mandatory to provide my HES code for all of your flights?

This is currently mandatory for all of our domestic flights within Turkey. In case of any updates, we advise you to follow up on our announcements from our communication channels.

7. Is it mandatory to provide my HES code for the domestic flights with connecting international flights?

No. It is not mandatory at the moment for the domestic flights with connecting international flights. In case of any updates, we advise you to follow up on our announcements from our communication channels.

8. Can I buy a ticket without entering my HES code?

Yes, you can. However, you should provide your HES code prior to your flight, during the check-in process (online or from the check-in counter) at the latest. Otherwise, due to the regulations, you will not be accepted to the flight.

9. How can I know whether I will be accepted on board before my flight?

Our systems will carry out daily status checks 14 days prior to your flight. If we detect any changes with your status, we will inform you immediately.

10. Is it possible for you to create/enter the HES code on behalf of the passengers?

Due to the data protection measures, we are not allowed to create and/or enter the HES code on behalf of our passengers.

11. Where should I enter my HES code?

If you book your flight directly from one of our channels (website or call center), you can enter your HES code during the booking process. If you book your flight through a travel agency or a tour operator, your agency/operator will ask you to provide your HES code.

12. Is it possible to fly without providing a HES code?

No. According to the regulations, you will not be accepted to the flight if you do not provide your HES code during the booking or check-in process at the latest.

13. I had provided my HES code, but I was informed that I will not be accepted to your flight. Why?

Our systems will carry out daily status checks 14 days prior to your flight. Your status will be constantly checked by the system until 5 minutes before your flight. When you receive any information from our channels concerning that you will not be accepted on board, it means that you are not eligible for traveling according to the directives by the Turkish Ministry of Health.

14. I was not able to fly since my status has changed prior to my flight. Will you offer me a refund or rebooking free of charge?

If you do not provide the obligatory HES code, it means that the basic requirement for your transportation is missing. Therefore, your status will be considered as “no-show” and the refund / rebooking rules will apply accordingly.

15. I provided my HES code. However, I was not able to fly since my status has changed prior to my flight. Will you offer me a refund or rebooking free of charge?

If you have a HES code but your status has changed on your flight date, your booking will be cancelled initially (without acknowledging any legal obligation), but your ticket and the ticket value will remain unchanged and can be used for a new flight within three months after your original flight date. The rebooking is free of charge. However, should the rebooked fare be more expensive due to a change of destination and/or date, an additional payment may be necessary.

16. I am not a Turkish citizen. Should I still provide a HES code?

No. It is not a requirement for the non-Turkish citizens.
