Which extra services can I book via SunExpress for my flight with Air Cairo?

Extra services for your flight with Air Cairo can be booked directly via our website or the SunExpress mobile app. These can either be added during the booking process or at a later stage via„My booking“:

Traveling with pets: Please make your special booking for animal transportation as soon as possible, but not later than 3 working days before departure. To do so, please call our Customer Service Center.

How much baggage am I allowed to take?

To ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers, only one piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg is allowed in the cabin. The dimensions must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm. For more information on hand baggage please click here.

On Air Cairo flights operating from Germany, Switzerland and Austria to Hurghada (brokered by SunExpress), each passenger aged 2 years and above has a baggage allowance of 20 kg, , unless excess baggage has been added to the booking.

Infants under 2 years have a baggage allowance of 20 kg. Pushchairs/buggies, travel cots and child car seats are stowed in the hold with no additional charge. If the baggage allowance (20 kg plus any pre-ordered excess luggage) is exceeded, an excess baggage fee defined by Air Cairo is charged at check-in. Please note, because of EU regulations, each item of luggage must not weigh more than 32 kg. A piece of baggage must not exceed the outer dimensions of 158 cm (length / width / height). If the respective size limits are exceeded, a flat fee will be charged.

Where can I check in?

You can check in at the Air Cairo check-in counter at the respective airports. Unfortunately you cannot use Air Cairo’s or SunExpress’ online check-in service.

Can I use SunExpress your benefits for Air Cairo flights and collect points?

Unfortunately it is not possible to collect or redeem points for Air Cairo flights which have been booked via  sunexpress.com or the SunExpress mobile app.

Where and how can I change or cancel my flight booking?

You can re-book or cancel the Air Cairo flight which you have booked via SunExpress at any time by clicking here. Please note that the respective conditions for re-booking / cancellation apply.

If the booking has been made by a tour operator, then please contact the tour operator if you wish to re-book or cancel the flight.

How can I contact the customer Service Center?

What are the latest Covid-19 regulations for traveling to Egypt from Germany, Austria or Switzerland?

The current entry regulations stipulate that all passengers (including Egyptians) aged 12 and above who are traveling to Egypt are required to present one of the following documents prior to departure:

Fully vaccinated passengers:

  • An approved vaccination certificate: Passengers can travel to Egypt 14 days after receiving the second dose of Pfizer / AstraZeneca / Moderna / Sinopharm / Sinovac / Sputnik V or 14 days after receiving the first dose of Johnson & Johnson.
    • The certificate must be written in Arabic, French or English and include a QR code.

Unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated passengers:

  • A negative Covid-19 test result (PCR or antigen test). The antigen test result must not be older than 24 hours prior to arrival. The PCR test result must have been issued within the last 72 hours (for passengers traveling from Frankfurt 96 hours) before
  • The test result must be presented in printed form in Arabic or English and bear a stamp of the issuing laboratory or a QR code.
  • Passengers travelling directly to Hurghada Airport who failed to submit a valid PCR test result prior to departure will need to take the PCR test upon arrival for a fee of 30 USD.
    • The respective passengers will be isolated in their hotels until the PCR test result has been issued. If the PCR test result is positive, the affected passenger will have to continue self-isolating in his / her room at the hotel.
    • Transit Passengers are exempt from the PCR test requirement upon arrival.

All recovered passengers with one shot of vaccine:

  • A negative PCR test result must be provided before departure.

For all international flights a Health Declaration form will be distributed at Check-in which passengers need to fill out and sign before boarding the aircraft.

The passengers’ temperature is screened at airports in Egypt, and it is mandatory to always wear a mask in the terminal building.

The Quarantine Authorities and Ministry of Health Offices will monitor passengers traveling to Egypt for 14 days upon entry.

Air Cairo, as contracting and operating carrier, establishes the rules and regulations that affect its flights booked via SunExpress’ booking systems. Important information for Charter Flights from NUE/LEJ/HAM/PAD/FMO to and from Egypt regarding ECAA (Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority) regulations:

Citizens of Egypt are not permitted to travel on a charter flight, unless the person concerned is an employee of an airline or touristic company, has a valid identity card and holds a free ticket. All flights from Nuremberg, Leipzig, Paderborn, Hamburg and Münster are charter flights.

If passengers who are not citizens of Egypt travel to Egypt  on a charter flight, then the return flight should also be a charter flight. The same applies for scheduled flights. Non-Egyptian citizens flying to Egypt on a scheduled flight should return on a scheduled flight too.

Moreover, passengers who are not citizens of Egypt are obliged to arrive and depart from the same airport and present a return ticket upon arrival.

Passengers holding a valid national ID card for the countries of Germany, France, Belgium, Italy and Portugal can use this document to enter Egypt without a passport.
