Dear Bonus members,
SunExpress Bonus website is currently under maintenance and will be back very shortly. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
Sunny greetings,
SunExpress Bonus Team
A proud anniversary at Saarbrücken Airport: Since 1993, the leisure airline SunExpress has been a frequent and welcome guest at Saar Airport. This means that holidaymakers in particular have been benefiting from a direct connection to Türkiye (Turkey) for 25 years now. The airline with the blue-orange sun symbol is a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines and will depart to Antalya three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays in the summer timetable.
“The constant number of passengers from one of Germany’s most beautiful catchment areas speaks for itself. We stand by the Saarlanders and continue to enjoy flying in the sun, and in summer 2018 even up to three flights a week,” emphasizes Peter Glade, Commercial Director of SunExpress.
2011 was a record year with 46,500 passengers to Antalya. Even in the difficult years 2016 and 2017, the aircraft were always well booked during the holiday months; the capacity utilization of flights to the Turkish metropolis of over 80 percent in these years as well. SCN Managing Director Thomas Schuck praises the good cooperation with the Turkish airline: “Sun Express is always a reliable and welcome partner for our airport,” he emphasizes. “Türkiye (Turkey) is the second most popular holiday destination for our passengers. Occupancy rates are high even outside the holiday season.”
A total of more than 590,000 passengers and around 4,400 take-offs and landings over 25 years were recorded. This summer, the 600,000th passenger will be welcomed at SCN. Antalya has been the destination airport in Türkiye (Turkey) for several years. In the past, SunExpress also travelled from Saarbrücken to Istanbul, Ankara and Dalaman from time to time. Flights with SunExpress can be booked as “only” flights or as part of package tours from the SCN onwards. All well-known tour operators use the flights of the popular holiday airline. SCN and SunExpress are celebrating their anniversary year with special offers.
To make the start to your holiday from Saar Airport even more pleasant, SCN has opened a SunExpress Lounge in the terminal, which invites travellers to relax before departure or after arrival. The lounge can be used by passengers and collectors.
