Frankfurt, 13 September, 2019 – No winter blues thanks to SunExpress’ latest schedule:
SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, will start into the new season with a total of 3.2 million seats – a plus of seven per cent compared to the previous year. SunExpress will continue its popular services to Beirut and Erbil, expand its strong position in Antalya and offer more flights to Izmir as well as Anatolia. Passengers will also benefit from numerous sunny connections to the Red Sea in Egypt. SunExpress will offer flights to seven destinations from Antalya and 12 destinations from Izmir on domestic routes within the scope of its winter schedule starting October 31.
Strong position in Antalya
SunExpress will expand its position in the port city of Antalya which is a very popular destination for holiday makers. Travelers will benefit from connections departing from the most important airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with a total capacity of more than 750,000 seats. From Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover and Munich there will even be an increase compared to the previous season. Offering attractive weekend flights from Zurich and Basel, there will be several flights per week. From Vienna, the airline will increase its offer to six weekly connections. The airline will also offer flights to Paris, the world’s most popular tourist destination, every Saturday during the winter season. SunExpress, which will fly twice a week to Copenhagen starting in February, will also offer weekly flights to Billund, known as the home of Legoland, a great holiday destination for families with children.
SunExpress is increasing the number of flights from Antalya on both domestic and international routes. SunExpress will operate three flights a week from Antalya to Trabzon and Samsun during the winter season and is boosting its flights between Antalya and Adana to two per day.
More winter flights to Izmir
The Turkish Aegean coast is getting more and more popular even in winter. For this reason SunExpress will increase the number of flights to Izmir to a total of 500,000 seats. In addition to the daily connections from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart, vacationers from Berlin and Hamburg can also benefit from a bigger offer.
SunExpress, which operates three flights a week from Izmir to Amsterdam, is also increasing its weekly flights to Vienna to three. From February, the airline will begin offering weekly flights to Europe’s popular capitals: Saturday to Paris and Copenhagen and Sunday to Brussels. Furthermore, the direct connection from Nurnberg will be offered by SunExpress in the winter season for the first time. Not least, the airline plans extra flights between Germany and Türkiye (Turkey) for weekend as well as business travelers.
On domestic routes, SunExpress is increasing the number of daily flights between Izmir and Adana to three and will offer flexibility with its attractive morning and evening flights from Izmir to Diyarbakır and Gaziantep to travelers, especially for those on daytrips. Its weekly flights from Izmir to Malatya, Kars and Erzurum will increase to four, Trabzon to five and Samsun to four.
Increased offer on Anatolia routes
The number of connections into the heart of Türkiye’s (Turkey’s) east will increase by a third to a total of 330,000 seats. This includes flights to the country’s capital of Ankara. Guests from Munich will continue to benefit from daily connections while there will be connections from Dusseldorf five times per week. Also, SunExpress will offer a second flight per week each from Frankfurt as well as from Stuttgart. It will also begin weekly flights to Amsterdam and Cologne for the first time.
The first and only airline to fly international routes with scheduled and direct flights from Diyarbakir, SunExpress will connect Diyarbakir to Düsseldorf and Hanover for the first time this winter. Also, there will be nonstop services to Samsun on the Black Sea coast once per week from Stuttgart. Furthermore there will be a premiere for the destination of Elazig with a new daily service from Frankfurt and Dusseldorf.
SunExpress plans additional transit connections via Antalya and Izmir to cities like Adana, Gaziantep and Diyarbakir and Kayseri. This way travelers will be able to reach family and friends fast and reliable – even on week days without a nonstop service.
Continuation of nonstop flights to Beirut and Erbil
SunExpress will continue services to the Lebanese trend city during the upcoming winter season. Passengers will have the possibility to fly nonstop twice per week from Dusseldorf as well as once per week from Hannover and Stuttgart. The country’s capital, also called “Paris of the East”, offers a charming Mediterranean promenade and several historic sites in the country side that make for an unforgettable city trip far from the classic destinations. The airline also plans to continue nonstop flights to Iraq with two weekly services from Dusseldorf to Erbil.
Sunny connections to the Red Sea
Passengers will benefit from a large number of services to Egypt’s seaside resort of Hurghada. SunExpress will have the largest offer to this destination in its history. The company plans up to six weekly nonstop services from Cologne, Hanover, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Leipzig. From Dusseldorf, guests can even reach the popular diving paradise on a daily base. Not least, there will be nonstop services every Tuesday from Cologne as well as from Leipzig to Marsa Alam which is located further south on the Red Sea coast.
