Frankfurt am Main, 28. July 2020 – Focus on safety and well-being: SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines has adapted its on-board offering to give its passengers peace of mind when travelling in current times. The airline resumed domestic and international flights in June already and will be serving a route network of 51 destinations in Türkiye (Turkey) and abroad in August.
The buy-on-board portfolio was carefully reviewed and updated, taking into account the new requirements the global pandemic brought along: The SunCafe menu on international flights in summer still includes choices of hot meals such as vegan lasagna or a chicken sandwich as well as a wide range of sweet and savoury snacks and hot and cold drinks. All meals are pre-packed to give passengers the maximum possible safety. The full SunCafe Menu is available on the SunExpress website. Due to governmental regulations, SunExpress does not offer a meal service on domestic flights at present. In order to minimise the risk of infection through touch, printed menu cards as well as magazines in the seat pockets will not be offered for the time being. Passengers can conveniently access them digitally via SunExpress’ IFE system.
SunExpress puts strong emphasis on providing a safe and secure on-board environment for its passengers: In addition to the obligation to wear masks, all lavatories in its modern and efficient fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft are equipped with disinfectants and guests are encouraged to regularly wash their hands during their journey. The airline also distributes single-package hand sanitizers to all passengers upon boarding, face masks are provided upon request for those who need them. Beyond that, all food and beverage trolleys are thoroughly disinfected before and after every flight. In an effort to reduce touch points before, during and after the flight, cabin luggage is currently limited to essential personal items such as laptop bags, small hand bags or baby products. All other pieces of luggage, e.g. cabin trolleys and larger back packs have to be checked-in.
