Leisure airline to offer around one million seats from DUS in summer 2018

Frankfurt, June 15, 2018 – Variety of connections from the Rhine-Metropolis: SunExpress flies from Düsseldorf Airport to Antalya in Türkiye (Turkey) five times a day in summer. Lovers of the trend destination can thus start to the Turkish Riviera at almost any time of day. The crew of the first of the five daily flights was solemnly discharged from Düsseldorf Airport today, once again confirming the high frequency from North Rhine-Westphalia to the Turkish Riviera.

Besides Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum and Dalaman will also be flying from Düsseldorf. The expansion of connections to the Turkish Mediterranean coast is part of the holiday airline’s strong growth: SunExpress will offer around one million seats throughout Germany from Düsseldorf in the summer of 2018, which corresponds to growth of 17 percent over the previous year. The airline flies from DUS alone to a total of 23 destinations in six countries.

“Düsseldorf Airport has a huge catchment area and has been an important partner of SunExpress for years. The demand for flights, especially to Türkiye (Turkey), is particularly high here, so that we offer even more flights to our core market at the DUS location,” says Peter Glade, Commercial Director of SunExpress. “We offer just under one-fifth more capacity than in the previous year – this is not only a clear commitment for the region on our part, but also vice versa.

SunExpress also offers a wide range of services from Düsseldorf to Anatolia and serves ten airports in the region. This includes Konya and Diyarbakir, which will be flown to once a week for the first time from the end of June.

On board all flights, passengers choose from German and Turkish dishes such as Dürüm Doner or Currywurst at a reasonable price and enjoy the extraordinary hospitality and outstanding service on board. SunExpress is regularly rewarded by its guests with positive feedback and recommendations.
