SunExpress, in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Türkiye (Turkey) Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, is bringing leading tourism agencies from Germany to Izmir and Kuşadası to introduce healthy and safe holiday opportunities in the region to German representatives and to support Turkish tourism.

Travel agency officials from seven German cities representing tour operators such as TUI and Alltours will visit touristic facilities and the scenic highlights in the region while getting the chance to experience the Safe Tourism Certification Program that has been put in place by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Highlighting the previous meeting hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism last month in Antalya that gathered ambassadors from more than 50 countries and members of the international press, Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan said: “We consider every visitor to our country as an ambassador. This was our view before the pandemic and it will remain the same in the future. After the event held in Antalya, we received very positive feedback from the ambassadors and large-scale international media coverage from Germany to England, from Japan to Ukraine, and from Russia to the Netherlands. We saw that the Safe Tourism Certificate Program was followed with great interest by the press. Therefore, I attach great importance to such promotional activities and I would like to thank all the parties who have been contributed to organizing this gathering.”

Noting that Türkiye (Turkey) was one of the countries that was able to achieve this challenging test during the normalization process in the aftermath of the global pandemic, Alpaslan said: “Our Ministry has implemented the Safe Tourism Certificate Program. When all domestic and international flights resumed, all of the necessary preparations for the new touristic season in Türkiye (Turkey) had already been completed. Türkiye (Turkey) continues to maintain its strength in tourism. We have all the infrastructure and equipment required to survive this most challenging time in the world.”

Pointing out that SunExpress is one of the major players in Turkish tourism, SunExpress Deputy CEO Ahmet Çalışkan added: “In this context, with contributions by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Türkiye (Turkey) Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, we will be able to host a significant number of German travel agency representatives in Izmir in cooperation with Touristik Aktuell. We aim to show our guests the measures taken within the framework of the Safe Tourism Certificate Program implemented by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to fight the pandemic and stressing once again that Türkiye (Turkey) is taking all the necessary actions to ensure safe tourism.”

The second trip will be held in Antalya

Çalışkan continued: “Our efforts will continue in our home base Antalya in the coming days. The leading travel professionals of Germany will also be visiting Antalya between July 23 and July 26. They will have the opportunity to experience all the necessary measures taken by the Turkish government and we aim to show them that Türkiye (Turkey) is ahead of many touristic countries with regards to creating a safe tourism environment for holidaymakers.”
