The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Türkiye (Turkey) Tourism Promotion and Development Agency and SunExpress hosted the representatives of the leading tourism agencies from Germany in Antalya from July 23-26. Antalya, which is the tourism capital of Türkiye (Turkey), was introduced to German representatives, along with the safe holiday options and measures that are being taken during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Representatives from Germany’s leading tour operators had the opportunity to experience the Safe Tourism Certification Program implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Türkiye (Turkey) Tourism Promotion and Development Agency.

Culture and Tourism Deputy Minister Nadir Alpaslan explained: “Last week, we hosted with SunExpress a different group in Izmir. We provided our guests with a safe and hygienic travel experience, giving our guests the opportunity to experience for themselves the regulations and practices of the Safe Tourism Certification Program that covers every stage of the process. During the trip, the participants appreciated the meticulous care being taken in all areas from airports to transfer vehicles, and from accommodation facilities to tourism sector employees. Our goal is to inform as many people as possible that Türkiye (Turkey) is a destination where they can spend their holidays in peace and security.”

We’ll always be on the side of Turkish tourism and Antalya

SunExpress Deputy CEO Ahmet Çalışkan said: “We are stepping forward to promote Antalya to German tourism professionals as a tourism region where high standards of health and safety measures are being implemented. We aim to show that Antalya is an ideal destination for travel, especially in the current conditions, and to contribute to tourism in the region as well as our home, Antalya.”

He added: “SunExpress, which connects Antalya to most international and domestic destinations with direct and scheduled flights, started domestic flights on June 1 and international flights on June 10. As the home carrier of Antalya, SunExpress became the first airline to operate flights from Antalya on both domestic and international routes. Because of travel restrictions, we currently connect Antalya to nine cities on our domestic routes and 29 cities on our international routes. As the travel bans in countries are lifted, we will increase the number of our destinations and flights. As SunExpress, we have always supported Turkish tourism and Antalya, and we will continue to do so.”
