Together for the earthquake victims: Airbridge to Turkey
Together we help! The need for aid in the affected earthquake region remains great. To ensure continuous and stable transport for urgently needed relief supplies and to reliably channel the enormous private willingness to help on the part of the population, we have joined forces together with five transport and logistics partners to form a relief initiative. The airlift has been active since February 17 and is expected to transport more than 1,000 tons of relief supplies to the crisis region in the coming weeks.
Who are the initiators?
- DPD (Parcel shipping expert)
- Lufthansa Cargo (Cargo airline)
- FIEGE (Logistics company)
- time:matters (Express transport expert)
- CB Customs Broker GmbH (Customs service provider)
How does the airlift work?
Private donations can be handed in at the 7,700 DPD pickup parcel shops in Germany, which are then distributed via the logistics centers of the FIEGE Group, coordinated by the logistics service provider time:matters, cleared through customs by Customs Broker and flown from Frankfurt to Antalya several times a week by airfreight transport from SunExpress and Lufthansa Cargo.
Companies can also make an important contribution and support the airlift as sponsors or with donations in kind. For example, SAP and Lufthansa Airlines as well as Cosnova have already sponsored freighter rotations of Lufthansa Cargo. Companies such as Rossmann, dm as well as Hanseatic help!, an aid organization that cooperates with Lufthansa Technik, have donated urgently needed relief supplies on a large scale and thus actively supported the initiative. Interested companies are asked to contact “Together we help” directly. Contact details can be found here.
In Antalya, the relief supplies are then transported to the earthquake areas with the assistance of the local disaster control authority AFAD and the logistics partner DSV.
