Vienna Schwechat Airport

In 1938, the airport’s landing and runways were used for the first time, initially by military aircraft. Ten years later, it had become the largest airport for civil aviation in Austria; 75 airlines now fly from Vienna to around 180 destinations worldwide. Since the climatic conditions are favourable in in Vienna, with moderate winters and warm summers, the metropolis is an interesting destination all year round – for summer holidays in the mountains, for ski holidays or city trips.

Vienna - always worth a visit

Austria’s metropolis is a popular destination for weekend getaways and city tours. Directly after the outward flight, your journey takes you by public transport to Vienna’s city centre.
