Antalya, Türkiye: 21 January, 2026 – SunExpress, the joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has reported a strong passenger performance for 2025, carrying almost 16 million passengers across its network.
This marks a 7% increase compared to 2024, when approximately 15 million passengers were carried, reflecting Türkiye’s popularity as one of the leading vacation destinations in Europe.
SunExpress also recorded robust traffic during the peak Christmas travel period, from 20th December 2025 to 4th January 2026. During this time, the airline carried almost half a million passengers in total, reflecting a 9% increase compared to the previous festive season (21st December 2024 – 5th January 2025).
These results reinforce SunExpress’ position as a leading leisure airline between Europe and Türkiye, supported by its strong partnership structure and expanding network.
In addition to ‘summer sun and beach’ travel, SunExpress caters for a number of other types of travel including cultural, archaeological, and culinary tourism, and sports travel.
SunExpress is a value carrier with a strong presence on the Turkish Riviera and in Anatolia. The airline operates in a total of 237 routes to 92 destinations across 35 countries.
