Entry and visa requirements for SunExpress destinations

Every country has its own entry requirements. To avoid problems when entering the country, it is important to find out exactly what papers you need before departure. Below you will find a summary of the entry requirements for the most important SunExpress destinations. However, as these rules may change from time to time, the information is without guarantee. Each traveler is responsible for finding out the exact entry requirements. The best way to do this is to contact a local consulate or embassy of the destination country.

Please note: If the requirements for a legal entry into the respective destination country have not been met at the time of check-in, this will result in the refusal of carriage.

Entry requirements for Türkiye (Turkey)

The majority of passengers from European countries, including Germany, can travel to Türkiye (Turkey) without a visa. The same applies to nationals of Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. In most cases, it is even possible to enter Türkiye (Turkey) without using a passport – only an ID card is required. In most cases, visitors from the previously mentioned countries will be entitled to stay in Türkiye (Turkey) for up to 90 days within any 6-month or 12-month period. For visitors from Belgium, Norway, Austria and Great Britain, other entry requirements apply. Nationals from these countries must apply for a visa before visiting. This can be done by contacting the Turkish Foreign Ministry in their country of departure. As a general rule, such visas are issued immediately, but the agency can issue such a visa up to 48 hours before the date of travel. A visa is usually checked online, but it is recommended that you carry an electronic copy or printout of your visa confirmation. Alternatively, visitors can use an e-visa. This way, you can apply for a visa at the moment of travel and entry. This should only be used as a last resort, however, with you allowing yourself plenty of time to confirm your visa registration.

Entry requirements for Bulgaria

Bulgaria accepts visitors with passports and ID cards as entry documents. However, it’s worth remembering that an individual ID document is required for children. Entrants will not be accepted under their parent’s identification. As long as visitors arrive with the correct entry documents, stays of up to 90 days are possible. If you wish to stay longer in Bulgaria, make sure you register with your nearest immigration office.

Entry requirements for Lebanon

We would like to inform you that SunExpress can only allow Syrian citizens to travel to Lebanon if they provide proof of legal entry into the Schengen area/Switzerland. The proof is provided by a corresponding entry stamp (for the Schengen area/Switzerland) in the Syrian passport.

In addition, transport to Lebanon is only possible if, in the case of entry into Türkiye (Turkey) noted in the Syrian passport, legal departure from Türkiye (Turkey) has subsequently taken place.

Please note that the European residence permit is not proof of legal entry into the Schengen area/Switzerland, as many Syrian citizens are simultaneously in possession of a refugee document. If you are affected, please contact the Lebanese embassy in Berlin and apply for a Lebanese entry visa. Thank you for your understanding.

Passengers travelling to the Netherlands

In accordance with Art. 4, Par. 2 of the Aliens Decree issued by the Dutch authorities, we are obliged to make copies of travel documents of passengers flying to the Netherlands and to show them to Dutch border control officials upon request. Dutch nationals are not affected by this regulation. Your data will be stored in accordance with the legal retention period of six months. After this period, the copy of your travel document will be destroyed as per legal requirements.
