We are SunExpress

Uniting people, countries, and cultures for more than 35 years.

Founded as a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines in 1989, we are a true sun specialist offering numerous direct connections between Europe and Türkiye (Turkey). Besides flying our guests to many idyllic holiday destinations in Türkiye, we reconnect them with their families and loved ones with our direct flights from Europe to many Anatolian cities.

Our success story relies on our valued passengers who choose to fly with us as well as more than 4,800 dedicated employees, who serve our customers to the highest standards. We do our very best to remain high-flyers for another 35 years and continue to offer our guests high-quality services.

Our two headquarters are in sunny Antalya, widely known as Türkiye's tourist capital, and in the very heart of Europe, in Frankfurt/Main. Another key hub is Izmir on Türkiye’s Aegean coast, with additional bases in Dalaman and Ankara. 

Modernized Fleet for Operational Excellence

An uncompromising commitment to operational excellence is the decisive force behind the sustainable success of an airline. Efficient flight operations are key to an airline’s long-term success. We continuously invest in our fleet and consistently drive its modernization forward. To ensure the comfort and safety of our guests, we currently operate both Boeing 737-800 NG and Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. In the future, the Boeing 737 MAX 10 is also set to join the fleet. Both MAX models stand out in particular for their reduced CO₂ and noise emissions, helping us further strengthen our commitment to sustainability and meet our growing social responsibility as an airline.

  • Europe’s Best Leisure Airline (2023 & 2024):  For two consecutive years, we have been named “Best Leisure Airline in Europe” at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, which is based on the votes of more than 20 million passengers across the world.

  • Regional Airline of the Year (2023):  We became “Regional Airline of the Year” at the Center for Aviation (CAPA) Aviation Awards for Excellence, in recognition of our rapid recovery under challenging conditions, expanding network, high service quality, and strong focus on customer satisfaction.

  •  World’s Best Leisure Airline (2022): We were awarded the “World’s Best Leisure Airline” by Skytrax at the 2022 World Airline Awards, which is based on the votes of more than 14 million passengers across the world.

  • Fifth best Leisure Airline in the World (2018 & 2019): We were voted the world’s fifth best leisure airline and the best leisure airline in Türkiye by Skytrax World Awards, also known as “the passengers’ choice”.
